GTA 6 Physical Copies Won’t Include Discs, Just Download Codes

GTA 6 preorders open up on June 25, and ahead of that date, developer Rockstar Games has confirmed one vital detail about the “physical” edition of its open-world adventure: it doesn’t exist in a technical sense. Instead, GTA 6 will include a download code inside the box. This means that the game will technically be sold physically, something that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke about earlier this year.

There is a benefit to this, as having the game teed up for a download to your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S will mean that you can start preloading GTA 6 on November 12–the same as digital preorders–a whole week before its November 19 release date. Rockstar also confirmed that all GTA 6 preorders and purchases before November 20 will get the Vintage Vice City Pack DLC, which according to the description, sounds like a set of ’80s-themed cosmetics. This is a “collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest,” Rockstar says.
