This is the newest version of the Kindle Colorsoft, offering 16GB of storage and a battery that lasts for up to eight weeks. The main attraction of the Colorsoft is its 7-inch display, which can reproduce a wide range of colors–making it a very different experience from reading on a standard black-and-white Kindle or Kindle Paperwhite.
Beyond displaying your books, comics, and magazines in full color, the screen can also be adjusted from white to amber, allowing you to fine-tune your viewing experience depending on the ambient light in your environment. In other words, you should be able to easily read your favorite content whether you’re out in the sun or tucked away under harsh fluorescent lights.
The Colorsoft supports a 150ppi resolution when displaying colors. It can also be used for black and white text, offering the same 300 ppi resolution as the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Scribe. However, keep in mind that many users find the Paperwhite to provide a superior display for strictly black-and-white content. So while the Colorsoft can certainly be used to read traditional novels, its big selling point is its versatility for reading comics, illustrated books, and other content with colorful graphics.
