Oura Ring 5: World’s smallest smart ring with new health tracking

Oura has launched the latest in its line of finger-based wearables, the Oura Ring 5. The Finland-based company’s newest product comes more than a decade after the first Oura Ring was launched, and the fifth-generation iteration brings a suite of new health-tracking features.

But before that, the company was keen to promote the fact that the Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller than the previous generation Ring 4, making it (as the company claims) the smallest smart ring in the world.

It’s interesting that Oura would make this a prominent selling point, considering that neither comfort nor looks were the sore points of the Oura Ring 4 (as we noted in our review), but we suppose it’s a welcome improvement for a product category that’s meant to be as unobtrusive as possible.

On health monitoring, one of the main draws of the Oura Ring 5 is Health Radar, which consists of two main measurements: Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing.

The former not only tracks and alerts users of increasing blood pressure, but also tracks blood pressure during sleep. With the latter, the Ring 5 is able to capture and display a 30-day rolling view of breathing patterns and disturbances during sleep.

Health Radar, alongside GLP-1 Insights, a metabolic health tracker for those under GLP-1 medication, will only roll out to Oura Ring Gen3 and newer Rings in the US, UAE and India, though, starting from June 2026.

Apart from this, while Oura’s Rings aren’t particularly known for being exercise-centric wearables, the company has nonetheless added live activity tracking for workouts including running, cycling and strength training. Finally, Oura is also rolling out a data deletion feature, where users can choose to delete data from a specified time window.

Of course, while the Oura Ring 5 contains the hardware, you’ll mostly be interfacing with the Oura App to actually view the data being logged. And unfortunately, key features are still locked behind a US$5.99/month or US$69.99/year subscription – this includes things like a detailed sleep analysis, blood oxygen sensing and metabolic health tracking. Without it, you can only view your Readiness, Sleep and Activity scores.

Availability and Pricing

While the Oura Ring 4 took a noticeably long time between its global release and availability in Singapore, that won’t be the case for the Oura Ring 5. The smart ring is set for a local release on 5 June, and it’s up for pre-order now on Weareready.sg. It will also be available at physical locations at Takashimaya, Tangs, Courts, Harvey Norman and Metapod at Changi Airport.

The Silver and Black colours of the Oura Ring 5 will cost S$599, while the Brushed Silver, Stealth, Gold and Deep Gold finishes will cost S$749. There’s also a sizing kit (between sizes 6 to 13) for S$15.
