Pebble, which returned to the smartwatch scene earlier this year, has introduced its first smart ring. It does not require an Internet connection, subscription or battery charging.
The Pebble Index 01 is built from 316 stainless steel with a built-in battery. Other trimmings include a liquid silicone rubber button and microphone, and the ring is made for one purpose: to act as an external memory for your brain.
To record with it, the user holds the button, whispers their thoughts at the Pebble Index 01 to capture it as a note, and sets it as a reminder or saves it for later use.
Because the Index 01 does not rely on cloud services, all voice memos are processed on your connected phone using open-source speech-to-text and AI models that support over 99 languages.
