Ahead of WWDC 2026, Apple announced several milestones of its App Store ecosystem, underscoring the platform’s continued importance to both the company and its global developer community.
According to a study by economists at Analysis Group, the Apple App Store ecosystem facilitated over US$1.4 trillion (~S$1.8 trillion) in developer billings and sales in 2025. What’s just as remarkable is that developers did not pay Apple any commission on more than 90% of these transactions.
Growth was evident across major markets. Over the past six years, App Store-facilitated transactions more than doubled in China and more than tripled in the United States and Europe.
