A Singapore cosplayer has gone viral after sharing footage from what she believes was an alleged upskirt filming incident during the first day of Nijigen Expo 2026 in Malaysia.
The Instagram Reel, posted by cosplayer Rimi, has since racked up more than 697,000 views and sparked widespread discussion online.
According to Rimi, the incident occurred while she was tending to her booth at the event.
Speaking to 8days.sg, she said a man carrying a selfie stick and camera lingered near her booth for around two minutes.
What she didn’t know was that staff from a neighbouring booth had already begun noticing something unusual.
According to Rimi, one of the neighbouring exhibitors discreetly took a photo of the man before alerting her to his behaviour.
By the time she turned around, however, things appeared perfectly normal.
Rimi said the man was no longer holding his camera in the same position. Instead, he allegedly approached her, asked to take a photo together, and even requested her Instagram handle.
“He seemed slightly nervous, but prepared to ask for a selfie,” Rimi told 8days.sg.
