Vertu launches its S,000+ AI agent-powered phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite

Luxury phone brand Vertu has announced two variants of its new phone, the Vertu Agent Q, alongside its 27th Anniversary Limited Edition.

According to Vertu, the Agent Q is a “paradigm shift from apps to agents”, representing the next evolution in smartphone software where top brands (like Samsung, OPPO, and even Apple) are increasingly focused on AI-powered consumer features for handsets.

A part of Vertu’s update is the implementation of AI Generated Service (AIGS), an upgrade from the conventional Vertu Concierge Service. In addition to the typical 24/7 on-call human assistants that will help you plan your holidays, work trips, and VIP access to exclusive spaces, AIGS hybridises the human touch with AI-powered calendar syncing, visa preparation, and drafting reports of financial positions.

Most of Vertu’s privacy- and luxury-first features are still intact. The Vertu Agent Q uses Vertu Agent OS (VAOS), which is based on Android. It’s further reinforced by hardware-based encryption and a three-tier privacy architecture (a secure core, sandboxing its AI agents, and a 10TB private cloud storage called Encrypted Sanctum & Distributed Vault).

The Agent Q also come with surprisingly up-to-date hardware, which wasn’t always the case in past Vertu handsets.

Rubber and plastic SIM trays are for the unwashed masses. The Vertu Agent Q uses a SIM chamber, shaped like falcon wings and made with gold and ceramic internals.

The phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Supreme, a specially customised version of the popular 2025 flagship-grade mobile platform (much in the same way Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy was specially made for Samsung). The use of a newer Snapdragon processor also meant it had connectivity perks like Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Other key specs include 16GB RAM, 1TB storage by default, on top of a 5,565mAh battery with 65W wired charging.

Rear cameras include a 50MP main (Sony IMX906 sensor, f/1.59-4.0 aperture, 35mm equivalent range), a 50MP ultrawide (Omnivision OV50D sensor, f/2.0), and a 64MP telephoto camera (Omnivision OV64B, f/2.6, with 70mm equivalent range).

Even its display is a Flexible AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, topping off at Full HD resolution (2,340 x 1,080 pixels). While Vertu didn’t specify its screen size, its 262g weight and 165.2mm length implies its in the realms of a Pro Max or Ultra handset.

The 27th Anniversary Limited Edition is ~2.4x pricier than the same Agent Q with a calfskin back. In return, there are only 27 units available worldwide, and it can be personalised with an engraving that’s prefixed with “VS88” followed by the user’s preferred wording.

The limited edition set also comes with a bespoke leather case. Specs-wise, it’s identical to the standard Agent Q.

The Vertu Agent Q’s pricing varies based on the materials and accents used. The Calfskin version starts at a relatively affordable S$7,240, while the Vertu Agent Q 27th Anniversary Limited Edition starts at S$17,330.

However, those aren’t the priciest phones in this Vertu generation, with the diamon-studded Agent Q Himalaya Alligator Collector’s Edition going at S$147,520.
