TTS Group: Offering 'total traffic solutions' for cities around Asia

[SINGAPORE] When countries build roads, TTS Group helps to plan how they should work.

With the acronym in its name standing for “Total Traffic Solutions”, the traffic and transport consulting firm advises governments, infrastructure developers and planners.

Its vision is “to be the leading firm in building nations and empowering people’s lives”, said managing director Kelvin Foo.

Its transport solutions should contribute to nation-building, he explained. When he founded the company in 2010, the aim was to develop a business that could inspire, unify and guide.

TTS Group specialises in end-to-end traffic solutions, offering expertise in transport planning, traffic engineering, data collection, and analytics.

Since its founding, it has earned a range of accolades, from the Golden Dragon Award in Vietnam in 2018 to Singapore’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award and E50 Award in 2024.

Innovation at work

TTS Group’s business strategy has three pillars: overseas operations with systematic structures; specialisation in holistic traffic planning; and a diverse client base.

From its offices in Singapore, Australia and Vietnam, it serves clients across Asia in both the public and private sector. These range from transport authorities, local councils and public utility agencies, to property developers, infrastructure construction companies and architects.

From the start, innovation has been at the heart of the company’s growth, with its operations powered by digital tools and smart systems.

Visual sensors and in-house monitoring platforms capture real-time traffic data. This has reduced the need for manual input, allowed for faster reporting and improved data accuracy.

The data is then analysed by automated systems that use deep-learning artificial intelligence models. This enables more accurate forecasting and planning.

Analysis of the data is presented on user-friendly dashboards, giving clients access to live updates and customised reports.

One project in which TTS Group was involved is Singapore’s North-South Corridor, an expressway that integrates bus lanes, cycling routes and green spaces.

After surveying traffic and running “microsimulation studies”, the company handled traffic control planning to minimise disruption during construction.

In Vietnam, TTS Group has been tasked to forecast traffic demand for major projects such as the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway, and two corridors along a future North-South Expressway.

It had to build the model from scratch to run simulations of traffic flow.

Putting people first

Despite its roots in technology, TTS Group puts people first, with extensive employee welfare, health and safety programmes.

Describing the workplace culture, Foo said: “I don’t call them my employees, we are all colleagues – part friends and part workmates. We are working together towards a shared purpose.”

Potential employees are assessed via the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator tool to ensure that they are a fit for the organisation’s culture. Each year, Foo himself meets employees one-on-one to better understand their preferences, aspirations and career goals.

TTS Group aims to foster a strong sense of belonging in employees, inspiring them to keep working hard.

To recognise those who have been with the company for more than 10 years, TTS Group hosts a Long Service Award Dinner. Award recipients are given customised figurines and trophies, along with a video tribute prepared in collaboration with their families.

Looking ahead, the company plans to deepen its regional integration and embed more AI-driven technologies into its transport planning frameworks.

“Our story is still being written, and we remain committed to our vision of building nations and empowering lives,” said Foo.
