M1’s new HomePac broadband lifestyle bundle plans offers more savings than you expect

The 6Gbps plan is leaner but cheaper:

For context, M1’s Bespoke SurfValue is a complimentary SIM-only mobile broadband service that gives eligible customers a small allowance of 500MB of 4G mobile data each month (any excess will be chargeable at $12.22 per GB), useful as a backup line or for a basic mobile device.

Bring your own router, or top up monthly

Both plans focus on delivering the broadband service only, which is worth noting if you’re new to M1. You can pair them with your existing Wi-Fi router, or top up monthly for one of M1’s curated options.

For the 10Gbps plan, the S$4/month tier is the obvious move if you don’t already own a Wi-Fi 7 router. If your home has thick walls, multiple floors, or persistent dead spots in the corner bedroom, that ZenWiFi BT10 mesh top-up is the cleanest fix.

Understanding M1’s HomePac broadband plans and bundle offersc

The maths is straightforward. The 10Gbps SharkNinja bundle costs S$20 more per month than the standalone 10Gbps plan (S$49.90 versus S$29.90). Across 24 months, that works out to a S$480 top-up, in exchange for two appliances that M1 values at S$698 combined. 

If you were already in the market for an appliance upgrade, the bundle effectively pays for itself, with the upside that you keep the appliances after the contract ends.

If you don’t need the appliances, the S$29.90 standalone 10Gbps plan or the S$27.90 6Gbps plan are the value picks. Most Singapore homes don’t yet have a router or device chain that can saturate 10Gbps wirelessly anyway, so 6Gbps is enough for the vast majority of HDB and condo households running 4K streaming, multiplayer gaming, and the usual smart-home load.

Do note that the S$480-versus-S$698 maths assumes the comparison point is the plan-only 10Gbps ONT version at S$29.90. If you’d compare it to the Integrated 10Gbps with ONR at S$30.90, the gap shrinks to S$19/month or S$456 over 24 months, but you save on not getting an additional router.

One other thing to note is that for the 10Gbps line, to actually pull the maximum speed on a wired connection, you’ll need a 10G Ethernet port on your PC (or a 10G network adapter), at least a Cat6 cable, and a router with a matching multi-gig WAN/LAN port. On Wi-Fi, you’ll need a Wi-Fi 7 router and a Wi-Fi 7 client device, and even then, real-world speeds are bound by the device’s antennas and signal conditions. None of this is unique to M1, but it’s worth knowing before you sign up for the top tier.
