Spartacus: House of Ashur Canceled

Steven S. DeKnight’s Spartacus: House of Ashur has reportedly been canceled at Starz after just one season.

Deadline reports that the alternate timeline spin-off has come to an end after Season 1 concluded with 10 episodes earlier this year. The site’s sources say the show failed to find the viewership necessary to continue, adding that “the makeup of the follow-up’s audience did not quite align with Starz’s focus on women and underrepresented audiences.”

Spartacus: House of Ashur is now without a home of its own, but that doesn’t mean the show is dead and buried quite yet. Lionsgate Television is said to already be shopping the series around to other platforms, though potential bidders have yet to be announced.
