MACC to appeal Singapore dismissal of RM548mil asset restraining order


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will appeal the dismissal of the restraining order on RM548mil in several bank accounts in Singapore.

The funds are said to belong to Toh Puan Na’imah Abdul Khalid, her son and seven others.

“The MACC takes note of the decision of the Kuala Lumpur High Court today, (May 22) which dismissed the prosecution’s application for a restraining order on investment funds amounting to RM548mill held in bank accounts in Singapore, allegedly owned by Toh Puan Na’imah Abdul Khalid, her son, and seven other parties,” the MACC said in a statement Friday (June 22).

“Following the decision, the MACC will file a notice of appeal in the near future, and the matter has been brought to the attention of the attorney general’s Chambers,” the statement read.
