Sony has announced a new flagship headphone called the 1000X The Collexion (WH-1000XX), a premium addition to its long-running 1000X noise-cancelling lineup that also coincides with the series’ 10th anniversary.
While we can expect the new headphone to continue on the 1000X series’ longstanding exceptional sound and noise cancelling performances, Sony says the 1000X The Collexion is aimed more at delivering a “refined listening experience” through upgraded materials, comfort and audio tuning.

At the centre of the new headphones is a bespoke driver unit featuring a newly developed high-rigidity dome made from unidirectional carbon composite material. Sony claims this improves instrument and vocal separation while delivering a wider soundstage and clearer high-frequency detail.
