Sony’s new Reon Pocket Pro Plus and Reon Pocket 6 are the personal coolers you need for the upcoming hot months

It still retains the two individual thermo-modules from before, and the hardware appears to be mostly unchanged from the Reon Pocket Pro. The differences are mostly due to the new cooling algorithm, an adjustable exhaust vent, and a re-engineered neckband that has better holding force and stability.

In fact, Sony’s own website states that you can “upgrade” your old Reon Pocket Pro to the Reon Pocket Pro Plus simply by replacing the neckband with the S$35 Reon Pocket Pro Plus Neckband and performing a software update.

For people who have only just bought a Reon Pocket Pro, this will definitely be good news.

Reon Pocket 6

The base model is getting a bigger update with new hardware. The new Reon Pocket 6 is inheriting features from the Reon Pocket Pro like the dual thermo-modules, a new vapour chamber and heat sink, as well as 1.5x faster charging in addition to the new cooling algorithm.

Both new models remain compatible with the original Reon Pocket Tag, but the Reon Pocket Pro Plus will come with the new Reon Pocket Tag 2, which is 18% smaller than its predecessor while offering a strap hole and carabiner for more carrying options.

The Reon Pocket Tag and Tag 2 are wearable sensors that measure the temperature and humidity of your environment. When they are paired with a cooler, they can adjust the cooler’s output to keep you comfortable.

Pricing and availability

The Sony Reon Pocket Pro Plus retails at S$349 while the Reon Pocket 6 is priced at S$299. From now until 30 June 2026, My Sony Rewards Members can enjoy S$30 off when they purchase either model, with the Reon Pocket Pro Plus discounted to S$319 and the Reon Pocket 6 to S$269.
