Like many games in the action genre, Ninja Gaiden 4 provides players with a wide range of supplemental tools to help deal with both combat and exploration. One of the primary examples of this in NG4 is the accessory system, which acts like a classic “charm” system, with each accessory using a specific number of slots. Unfortunately, at the start of the game, Yakumo – NG4‘s new protagonist – has only a single slot, and the game does very little to explain how to get more. With that in mind, we’ll show you how and when you can increase accessory slots in Ninja Gaiden 4.
How to Increase Accessory Slots in Ninja Gaiden 4
Progress to Chapter 4 – Pilgrim’s Windswept Path:
While playing the first several chapters of Ninja Gaiden 4, many fans may believe that they will only be able to ever equip one accessory at a time. It is hard to blame them for this, as NG4 does very little to explain how the accessory system will work once the system – and the game as a whole – open up in latter chapters.
Some eagle-eyed fans will likely notice that the few accessories that can be found in the early chapters each feautre a slot requirement section in their descriptions, signifying that, at some point in the game, you’ll unlock more slots, and need to strategically utilize accessories for each combay scenario. This is, in fact, the case, and it will become an option in Chapter 4: Pilgrim’s Windswept Path.
How to Unlock More Accessory Slots in Ninja Gaiden 4:
Unlike many action-adventure games, which require you to locate some type of special item, or fulfill some kind of side quest to gain new slots for weapons or tools, Ninja Gaiden 4 chooses to do it the same way it has you do almost everything else: by paying for it.
Very early in NG4, you’ll be introduced to Tyran. Whenever you encounter a DarkNest Terminal – NG4‘s version ofn a save point and merchant – you’ll also encounter Tyran’s Raven, which will allow you to call him to your location. Tyran is a merchant who specializes in selling Combat Skills. Up until Chapter 4, this service only provides skills for combat, so it is easy to understand why many players would not even look to him to provide passive unlocks like accessory slots.
However, once you reach Chapter 4, Tyran will begin doing just that. When you first visit Tyran during Pilgrim’s Windswept Path, make sure to look at his available Combat Skills. Along with the skills that have been available up to this point, you’ll now see a new skill: Act of Adornment Lv. 1.
Act of Adorment Lv. 1 is available for 8,000 NinjaCoin, and will unlock a single Accessory Slot. The fact that it is only the first level of this skill implies that there will be more. As we unlock more, we will continue to add them here. However, for now, it seems that this will be the primary method for adding new accessory slots to your inventory in Ninja Gaiden 4.
As we are still making our way through Ninja Gaiden 4, this guide should be considered a Work in Progress. We have established one method for unlocking Accessory Slots in NG4, but there may be more. As we discover the costs of further Act of Adornment levels, as well as any other method of adding slots, we will add them here.
