Marvel Snap studio attempts to quell concerns after layoffs, but it isn’t enough



The Marvel Snap community is very concerned about the future of the digital card game after layoffs at developer Second Dinner. This prompted studio co-founder Ben Brode to respond and attempt to quell those fears by stating Second Dinner is still committed to Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap originally launched in 2022 and attracted a very healthy community of players. Over time, that community has gotten smaller due to player fatigue and controversies regarding the game’s approach to monetization. In March, Second Dinner published a blog post stating that it would take the rest of 2026 to fix some persistent issues with Marvel Snap and better set the game up for future updates.

In the weeks since that post, game designer Glenn Jones left Second Dinner and the studio laid off several developers, including community manager Griffin Bennett. This X post from Marvel Snap content creator Regis Killbin sums up the situation and how the community feels about it:
