One of the saddest facts about life is that there’s never enough time to play video games. It’s a truth Xbox Game Pass holders will have to swallow, however, as there are several titles that will be leaving the subscription service this month, including Jump Over the Age’s cyberpunk narrative adventure game, Citizen Sleeper.
Citizen Sleeper is a text-heavy RPG with a dice system inspired by tabletop role‑playing games. Players are put in control of a Sleeper, a human whose mind has been digitized and placed into a robot body controlled by the Essen-Arp mega-corporation. After picking their class, players discover that they’ve managed to escape Essen-Arp, and have arrived at a space station called the Eye. The Eye is a location filled to the brim with different factions who, much like the player, are trying to fight for survival and freedom.
Our review of Citizen Sleeper pinpointed the game’s greatest strength as its ability to allow players to “exist without a purpose or concrete objectives.” If that sounds like a pro, then even more reason to play this sci-fi adventure before it leaves Game Pass. Its sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2, is also available on Game Pass.
