Boy, 16, pleads guilty to gang attack on 13-year-old girl in Singapore with baseball bats and belts

The victim, contacted by a 13-year-old girl she knew, was lured to the gathering. 

Dissatisfied with her, the group of six youths — three girls aged 12, 13, and 18, and three boys aged 14, 16, and 18 — surrounded her, punching and kicking her in the stairwell and apartment.

They also struck her with a plastic baseball bat, whipped her with a belt, stepped on her abdomen, and drew on her face with markers. 

The girl was forced to stay overnight in the apartment out of fear before escaping the next morning. 

Medical examinations revealed bruises, a scar above her lips, and a minor fracture to her nose bridge.

Two other youths have already been sentenced: the 14-year-old boy to two years at a boys’ home, and the 13-year-old girl to 21 months at a girls’ home. 

The cases of the remaining alleged perpetrators are pending.

The prosecution requested a probation suitability report for the 16-year-old, but the judge ruled that due to the seriousness of the crime, probation could not be considered and deferred sentencing until the assessment is completed.
