Ang Mo Kio resident fed up with pickleball players starting game before 9am with ‘5 balls at once’

What’s worse than the ‘pok, pok, pok’ sound of pickleball? Having it multiplied by five.

Stomper Y is frustrated by the noise created by pickleball players in the vicinity of Blocks 172 and 173 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4.

He shared a video of the players on Sunday morning (Oct 12) and said: “They started playing before 9am, using five balls at once.

“They do not stay in this area and have no consideration for the residents here. The nearest unit is less than 15 metres from the court.”

According to the Stomper, the pickleball players are there every weekend.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokeswoman for Ang Mo Kio Town Council said it is aware of the pickleball activity at the common area near the aforementioned blocks.

“We have advised the players to keep their games within the hours of 9am to 9pm and reminded them that the space is not meant for training or competitive play,” she added.

“We have also displayed an educational banner on-site to inform players of these guidelines.

“We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the area remains a pleasant and conducive environment for all residents.”
