In recent years, the popular beach enclave of Canggu has become Bali’s trendiest spot, dethroning places such as Ubud and Seminyak as the island’s most popular destination, at least if social media is any indication.
A former fishing village, Canggu offers beautiful black-sand beaches, a lively night scene and cute independent boutiques, not to mention a Sunday market that’s hands down one of the best in Southeast Asia. The town – which attracts an eclectic crowd of surfers, digital nomads, fitness influencers and crypto bros – is now also home to a five-star hotel worthy of its name.
