Poorer air quality in Singapore’s east as Johor hotspots continue to be observed; Iran tells UN that ‘non-hostile’ ships can transit Strait of Hormuz: Singapore live news

Singapore’s air quality in the east was poorer than normal on Tuesday (24 March), most likely due to drifting smoke plumes from Johor.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) posted on Facebook on Tuesday evening that the 1 hour PM2.5 level in the east of Singapore had reached 69 ug/m3 at 2am that morning. A check on the myENV app showed that the 1 hour PM2.5 level was at 60 ug/m3 for Singapore’s east as of 8am on Wednesday (25 March) but this figure fell to 39 ug/m3 an hour later.
