A searing heatwave gripped southern Australia on Wednesday, pushing temperatures past 40°C in some cities, sparking health warnings, causing power grid strains and renewed bushfire risks. According to Bureau of Meteorology, severe to locally extreme heatwave conditions are building across South Australia, Victoria, northern Tasmania, and New South Wales. Meteorologists described the conditions as the most severe in six years, comparable to the extreme weather that fuelled the deadly bushfires across southeastern Australia, known as the Black Summer, Reuters reports. #fyp #australia #victoria #news @Mothership on Earth
