SINGAPORE – The police on Dec 31 closed access to nine areas around Marina Bay due to large crowds that have gathered to attend the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2026 countdown event.
They said in a Facebook post at 11.20pm that access to the following areas have been closed:

Fullerton Waterfront area

Merlion Waterfront area

Jubilee Bridge

Esplanade Waterfront area

Helix Bridge

Marina Bay Sands Waterfront area (near Art Science Museum)

Marina Bay Sands Waterfront area (near LV)

Marina Bay Sands Waterfront area (near Rain Oculus)
The access closures at Marina Bay had started from around 8pm.
