With the release of Season 3 of Diablo 4, the Helltides events, beloved by late-game players, no longer have cooldowns of an entire hour but are limited to just 5 minutes. It is very helpful since the new season also added Diablo 4 Seasonal Journey tasks, one of which requires defeating 6 Helltide Commanders.
Due to the variety of Helltide event options, finding a specific mini-boss can be quite a challenge. Where To Find a Helltide Commander in Diablo 4
As their names suggest, Helltide Commanders appear during Helltide events, which occur every hour all across Sanctuary. When a zone gets affected by a Helltide, monster spawns are significantly increased, and public events become more frequent. More importantly, Helltide-specific public events have a chance to spawn in these zones, and to find a Commander, you need to find the right Helltide Event.
If you’re playing through the game for the first time, you likely won’t encounter a Helltide until you finish the campaign. However, if you start with a seasonal Diablo 4 character, you’ll be able to farm Helltides immediately.
Those Who Call The Storm
During this Helltide event, players must destroy five different effigies in the event area. Of course, as always, you will be disturbed by dozens of enemies whose level is three higher than yours, so it will not be so easy. However, as soon as you fulfill this requirement, a Helltide Commander will appear in the central part of the event, and you can defeat it.
Portal Invasion
During this event, you must destroy seven portals before time runs out. Strengthened enemies constantly appear from these portals, so you will have a hard time. But as in the previous case, destroying all portals ensures the arrival of the Helltide Commander.
Helltide Commanders occasionally appear whenever players summon a Blood Maiden in Helltide events.
