Honor updated its high-battery, high-durability smartphone lineup with the latest Honor X9d, and the company has confirmed it’s bringing the device to Singapore.
Water? Dust? Dropping from heights? No problem for Honor X9d
This time around, Honor has gone beyond its previous Anti-Drop Display to bring us an all-around resistance against water, dust, and droppage via SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance. We tried it out personally in a media test session arranged by Honor:
According to Honor, the X9d uses several durability technologies to make one of the most durable phones it can muster. It has Honor’s proprietary Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop technology for its body, and the company claimed it can withstand 2.5m drops from heights onto certain surfaces.
This is on top of a new type of “ultra-deep” tempered glass surface, which protects it against 10 types of ground made from stone, on top of surviving pellet rounds from air guns (guns that use pressurised air to fire their projectiles).

The phone is also rated with IP69K resistance, which provides protection beyond stagnant, plain tap water. Honor said it can resist rising dirty water, high-temperature water (10 seconds or less), and ultra-high-pressure water jets. It added that the Honor X9d still functions even after a 30-minute-long, 1.5m-deep submersion.
Taking advantage of all that durability is the added AI Heavy Rain Touch and AI Glove Touch, which means you can operate the phone’s screen even with wet hands or biking gloves on.
Another cherry on top of this durability cake is the massive 8,300mAh battery, making it an ideal companion for users who work long hours outdoors.
Editor’s Note: While battery capacity can’t just be taken at face value since we’ve previously tested and debunked the common misconception (like when people were putting down the Galaxy Z Fold7 for its limited battery life, but it turned out to be better) that the rated capacity is enough to tell which should perform better in real-world testing, it’s still nice to know Honor crams 25% more battery capacity than its predecessor. We’ll put that to the test one day.
Other perks
As a smartphone, Honor X9d utilises an up-to-date, entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor. It also features a 6.79-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz peak refresh rate, in addition to 12GB of physical RAM, with the option to virtually extend it by an additional 12GB (which consumes your storage capacity, but this is rarely needed).
The dual rear cameras are a 108MP main and 12MP ultrawide. Most of the work has gone into the main camera, since it has a 1/1.67-inch sensor, as well as both optical and electronic image stabilisation (OIS + EIS). Another advantage is the support for iOS’s Live Photos, on top of the built-in AI Eraser, AI Cutout, and AI Outpainting for photo editing.
