Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Final Tera Raid Event of 2025

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have one last event to close out 2025, as Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will return as Five-Star Tera Raid bosses for the first time since February, ending a 10-month absence. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will have over two weeks to face Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, though a few caveats remain in place.

As two of the rarest Paradox Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves have had only a few windows of opportunity for trainers to battle and catch them. The most recent of these availability windows for Walking Wake and Iron Leaves was in February 2025, just a week before Pokemon Day. Walking Wake is a Water and Dragon dual-type prehistoric monster inspired by Suicune, while Iron Leaves is a robotic, Grass and Psychic Pokemon that looks similar to Virizion. Like other Paradox Pokemon, Walking Wake is exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet, while Iron Leaves can only be fought in Pokemon Violet. Ergo, Pokemon trainers looking to add both to their Pokedex entries must trade for the ones they need.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raid Details (December 2025)

Although the Dragapult Tera Raid event has concluded, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will soon have one final event to partake in before 2025 draws to a close. According to Serebii.net, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will host the sixth run of the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Five-Star Tera Raid event, starting on Thursday, December 18 at 7:00 PM Eastern and ending on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 6:59 PM Eastern. Pokemon trainers will have over two weeks to battle and catch Walking Wake in Pokemon Scarlet, and Iron Leaves in Pokemon Violet. Walking Wake will be a Tera-Water boss, while Iron Leaves will be Tera-Psychic. Given that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are both set to level 75, a full team of level 100 Pokemon that have a type advantage against either target should be safe bets in both their respective battles.

Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Should Offer Tempting Rewards

Though each Paradox Pokemon boss can be repeatedly fought, Pokemon players who already have a Walking Wake or an Iron Leaves in their game save files will not be able to catch another. While this is not the first iteration of this event, it will be the first time since the Switch 2 update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will be available in Tera Raid Dens. Given that the performance of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has significantly improved since the Switch 2 update, trainers who have held off on trying out Tera Raid battles will have an ideal opportunity to test themselves against two of the rarest Paradox Pokemon available.

During the previous February 2025 event featuring Walking Wake and Iron Leaves, both Paradox Pokemon dropped some lucrative items when defeated or caught. Some of these prizes include Herba Mystica, which can be used to make four-star sandwiches, along with EXP Candies and Bottle Caps that can be used to power up various Pokemon that still need some training.

This Could Be The Last Chance To Face These Paradox Pokemon

Though Paradox Tera Raid Events in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are a periodic and recurring event, the same cannot be said for Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. The fact that these two Paradox Pokemon in particular have taken 10 months to appear again means that this upcoming Five-Star Tera Raid event may be one of the last chances that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have to catch them.

Plus, with rumors about Pokemon’s next game generation making the rounds on social media, there is the growing possibility that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet events will be discontinued in the near future. As such, trainers looking to finish off their Paldea Pokedexes may not have too much time to ensure that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are added.
