This article contains spoilers from the Boruto series.
The Boruto series has introduced many powerful abilities to the fans over the years. Be it strong scientific ninja technology, or the power of the alien beings called the Otsutsuki, such as the Karma, Boruto has revealed a ton of exciting abilities to the fans. It seems that both Kishimoto and Ikemoto are trying hard to establish a new power system in the series, and based on the recent developments in Two Blue Vortex, this power system is now quite clear.
Boruto’s New Arc Officially Gives A Naruto Uzumaki Return Update
Naruto Uzumaki will eventually return, and the newest Boruto arc has revealed when.
In simple words, the Jinchuriki system is officially dead in Boruto. The system has been replaced by something even stronger, and that is the incarnation of Tailed Beasts as humans in the story. While only two such characters have shown themselves in the story so far, fans can rest assured that more will pop up later down the line.
The Jinchuriki Will No Longer Exist In Boruto
The Jinchuriki were a very important part of the Naruto series. They were established in the story at the very beginning, and essentially served the role of human weapons against neighboring villages. Their power was absolutely immense, and throughout the Naruto story, they played a significant role in shaping the world the way it is today. Naruto Uzumaki was the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails, and fans also saw many others over the years. Now, however, it is evident that Kishimoto has discarded the idea of Jinchuriki existing.
This power is immense. It should definitely surpass his. But the drawbacks are too great. You see, the fact that it drains our lifespan is the key here. Since chakra is connected, the power that comes into being from the bits of our lives also shaves off his life when in contact. That is the power of Baryon Mode. — Kurama to Naruto Uzumaki
Killer Bee Is The Last Jinchuriki
At the end of the 4th Great Ninja War, it became quite clear that Jinchuriki were no longer needed. Seven of the nine Tailed Beasts roam freely in the Ninja World, and only two remain with their vessels. Gyuki, the Eight-Tails decided to stay with Killer B. Meanwhile, Kurama stayed with Naruto to oversee the bond with the other Tailed Beasts.
While fans believed that they would see Naruto stay a Jinchuriki right until the very end, they couldn’t have been more wrong. In the battle against Isshiki in Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki ended up utilizing a power known as Baryon Mode, and this ability cost Kurama his life. As the Tailed Beast died, Naruto was no longer a Jinchuriki.
In Boruto only one Jinchuriki remains after the death of Kurama. As soon as Killer Bee dies, the Jinchuriki will officially cease to exist and this power system will come to an end forever.
New Tailed Beast Reincarnations Will Be Introduced
While Jinchuriki are obsolete in the Boruto series, it is quite clear that Kishimoto plans on replacing them with a system even stronger. Instead of humans being used as vessels for Tailed Beasts, the Tailed Beasts now reincarnate themselves as humans. This was first established with Jura. It was revealed that the Jura is essentially the incarnation of the Ten-Tails itself in human form after gaining sentience. This made him stronger than ever before and a threat even bigger than Isshiki Otsutsuki.
You don’t understand a thing. For you are no ordinary shinobi. You’re even a little different from Jinchuriki, those who host Bijuu inside them. You are human, and yet, if anything, you’re more similar to me and Jura. — Kurama to Himawari Uzumaki in Boruto
Later on, it was confirmed that even Himawari Uzumaki is actually not a Jinchuriki. Just like Jura, she is a Tailed Beast incarnate. How exactly this came to be remains unknown, but Himawari and Kurama are essentially one, and she is just an extension of his power. This means that she is not just a vessel, and given that the other Tailed Beasts are roaming the world of ninja freely, fans will never see another Jinchuriki after Killer Bee dies.
Gyuki Might Reincarnate As A Human Tailed Beast In Boruto
If Killer Bee does end up dying at some point in the Boruto series, fans should keep in mind the possibility that the Gyuki might actually return as a human Tailed Beast, just as Kurama did with Himawari Uzumaki. Of course, there is no guarantee that Gyuki will even return in the story, but if it does happen, then fans should look forward to this possibility, as it would most certainly be fitting.
