Diablo 4 could reveal its second expansion at the 2025 edition of The Game Awards, according to a gaming industry insider who claimed that a statue that was posted by TGA host Geoff Keighley was related to Blizzard’s potential plans. Although some fans initially stated that the statue Keighley posted about could be for a Diablo 4 expansion announcement, others claimed that the statue could be used to announce other games, such as God of War and The Elder Scrolls 6.
The news came amid two different in-game events that Diablo 4 players can sink their time into. Both the Compass to Carnage and the Mother’s Blessing events are now live until Tuesday, December 2, giving players an excellent opportunity to gain extra gold, gear, and Infernal Horde Compasses that can be used to farm Chaos armor pieces during the final days of Season 10, which concludes on Tuesday, December 9. The Compass to Carnage was originally not intended to overlap with the Mother’s Blessing, as the former event was delayed by several months. However, the timing worked out in favor of Diablo 4 players, as they have just a couple of days to gear up their characters before the two events conclude on December 2.

Insider Suggests Diablo 4’s Next Expansion Will Appear at The Game Awards
While rumors about Blizzard’s plans for Diablo 4 should be taken with a fine grain of salt, a known industry insider stated that Diablo 4‘s second expansion could be unveiled this December. Jez Corden stated on Twitter that a demonic statue that was revealed by TGA show host Geoff Keighley may be for a Diablo 4 expansion announcement. In early November, Corden stated that it may be time to “reinstall Diablo 4” in a seemingly random post, and used an angel emoji in a quoted post as an allusion to Keighley’s statue post. Given that The Game Awards will take place on December 11, the show will go live two days after Diablo 4 Season 11 goes live on December 9, immediately following the end of Season 10.
What’s With the Statue That Geoff Keighley Posted?
On November 28, Keighley posted a picture of a demonic-looking statue that was located in the middle of a desert. The Game Awards’ social media feed then confirmed that the statue was located in Joshua Tree, California, over 120 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. A video taken by Twitter user Triodug showed the statue from different angles. However, it is currently unclear how this statue could be utilized as part of a world premiere reveal at The Game Awards.
The statue has several skeletons and monsters located on the sides. Some steps leading to a closed gate were carved into the statue’s center, giving off the appearance of a sealed demonic portal. While Corden and some fans concurred that the statue was crafted for a potential Diablo 4 expansion announcement at The Game Awards, others said that it could be for other game announcements instead. Highly anticipated games like The Elder Scrolls 6, Half-Life 3, and a God of War sequel were among the more popular guesses in the replies to Keighley’s post. Corden said that, while the statue may be for a Diablo 4 expansion announcement, he said that “more” could be revealed at The Game Awards, though it is not clear what that could be.
