Xbox Game Pass subscribers currently have five new games to look forward to in December 2025, with more likely to be announced next week. Every month, new games are added to Xbox Game Pass across its various tiers, with subscribers getting the most bang for their buck from the Ultimate tier. With an Ultimate tier subscription, Game Pass subscribers can play everything that the service has to offer on Xbox and PC, including brand-new, day one releases.
2025 has been an incredible year when it comes to day one games on Xbox Game Pass. The first half of the year was defined by critically-acclaimed games like Blue Prince and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, while the second half of the year delivered one of the most highly-anticipated indie games of all time in the form of Hollow Knight: Silksong along with blockbuster releases like Ninja Gaiden 4, The Outer Worlds 2, and most recently, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
5 Xbox Game Pass Games That Are So Good, You’ll Want To Play Through Them Twice
Game Pass users have hundreds of games to choose from, but some are so good it’s easy to keep coming back for more.
The year is nearly at an end, but there are still some major new releases for Game Pass subscribers to look forward to before 2026. To date, there are five games confirmed for the Game Pass December 2025 lineup, with day one co-op game Marvel Cosmic Invasion kicking things off on December 1, to be followed by narrative-driven adventure game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage on December 2. December 4 will see the debut of long-awaited sci-fi horror game Routine for PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers to check out, while December 9 actually has two games on deck. Game Pass subscribers can mark their calendars that day for the debuts of A Game About Digging A Hole and Dome Keeper.
List of New Xbox Game Pass Games coming in December 2025
- Marvel Cosmic Invasion – December 1
- Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – December 2
- Routine – December 4
- A Game About Digging a Hole – December 9
- Dome Keeper – December 9
A Game About Digging a Hole is, as its name describes, a game about digging a hole. It first debuted on Steam earlier this year and has earned positive reviews, so it should make a solid addition to the Game Pass lineup. Dome Keeper, meanwhile, is a roguelike action platformer with an art style that is very similar to the Metroid series.
Between those games and Marvel Cosmic Invasion‘s co-op beat ’em up action, December 2025 is already a fairly impressive month for the subscription service. And the thing is, this isn’t even the full list of games coming in December. More December 2025 Game Pass titles are expected to be announced next week, so subscribers should keep an eye out for more information on that front.
Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving on November 30
- Barbie Project Friendship
- Lords of the Fallen (2023)
- Octopath Traveler
- Octopath Traveler 2
- SteamWorld Build
There are exciting new Game Pass games to look forward to in the near future, but there are also a handful of titles that are on their way out. On November 30, Game Pass will be saying goodbye to Barbie Project Friendship, the 2023 Lords of the Fallen game, Octopath Traveler and its sequel, and SteamWorld Build. At this point, there’s not really enough time to play through these games before they’re removed – the gargantuan Octopath Traveler games especially – but subscribers can at least still try before they buy.
In the meantime, Game Pass subscribers will also want to take note of The Game Awards on December 11. It’s highly likely that more Game Pass announcements will be made during the show, so fans should be sure to tune in.
