Poco F8 Ultra and F8 Pro brings Bose onboard its flagship-killing spree

Barely eight months have gone by since Poco launched its F7 series (Poco F7 Pro, Poco F7 Ultra), and yet Xiaomi’s sub-brand is ready to follow up with its latest F-series models.

Poco F8 Pro, Poco F8 Ultra

Poco has introduced the new Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra through a global launch event held in Bali, Indonesia, on 26 November 2025. This time around, Poco has partnered with Bose, the U.S. audio giant famous for its noise-cancelling in-flight headphones.

In its keynote, Poco said its Bose partnership “redefines what is possible in mobile listening”. This is on top of all the add-ons it has done to the phones’ display, photography, battery, and mobile gaming competencies.

Return of the Snapdragon

Like before, these phones are also built to give premium flagship phones a reason to panic.

Poco F8 Pro has 2025’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (which is on par with titans like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the Redmagic 10 Pro, and more)

Poco F8 Ultra goes further by bringing us the 2026 equivalent, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It’s so new that very few phones have it, and even fewer are known to arrive in Singapore (Xiaomi 17 series being one of them, with Honor Magic8 Pro coming soon).

Ultra gets the Bose-design 2.1-channel speakers

The Poco F8 Ultra gets the most love from Bose, thanks to its unique 2.1-channel architecture for its Bose-designed triple-speaker acoustic system. Poco said this design overcomes the “inherent constraints” that used to limit phones from achieving richer bass and a new mobile audio experience.

While the Poco F8 Pro only gets a dual speaker layout (no subwoofer), it still offers the two Bose-inspired sound profiles: Dynamic for bass-boosted audio and Balanced for more vocal focus. This tuning applies across streaming, gaming, and music apps.

Eye-melting gaming graphics

Poco F8 Ultra has a whole slew of display add-ons. It’s equipped with a dedicated display chipset (VisionBoost D8) to support upsampling to 120FPS, 1.5K resolution, and Game HDR, in addition to AI Super Resolution to create sustained high-framerate gaming for select game titles (such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Honkai: Star Rail).

It also has WildBoost Optimisation, a load-balancing software feature that distributes CPU and GPU workloads to lower power consumption and generate less heat.

Also built into the device is the 6,700mm2 LiquidCool Technology, a two-channel, two-layer IceLoop cooling system with convex surfaces on the mainboard, mobile chipset platform, and even takes care of heat generated from the camera module.

Poco F8 Pro, while not as kitted out, still gets WildBoost Optimisation and a 3D triple-layer IceLoop cooling system.

100W fast-charging for all

The Poco F8 Ultra has a 6,500mAh battery, largest-ever for Poco’s F-series phones. It’s accompanied by 100W HyperCharge wired charging and 50W wireless charging, along with Smart Charging that looks at a battery’s temperature and charging status.

Poco F8 Pro’s battery is also at a big 6,210mAh, with 100W wired HyperCharge.

Cameras, no less

To live up to its Ultra name, Poco F8 Ultra packs a 50MP main camera (1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor) with f/1.67 aperture, 4-in-1 pixel binning to achieve 2.4μm, and OIS. It’s further accompanied with a 50MP periscope telephoto camera (f/3.0, 115mm focal length, OIS) and a 50MP ultrawide camera (f/2.4).

The periscope lens has 5x optical zoom, 10x in-sensor crop zoom, and 20x “Ultra Zoom”. However, the real highlight is the main camera with a multi-coat lens that reduce glare and lens flares.

Poco F8 Pro sees its first-ever dedicated telephoto camera, bringing us a 50MP main (1/1.55-inch Light Fusion 800 sensor, f/1.88 aperture, OIS), a 50MP telephoto (60mm to give 2.5x zoom, f/2.2), and an 8MP ultrawide camera.

What’s shared across the two Poco F8 models?

Both pack a Poco HyperRGB AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500-nits peak brightness, and resolutions beyond 1080p (Poco F8 Ultra at 6.9-inch with 2,608 x 1,200 pixels resolution, Poco F8 Pro gets 6.59-inch with 2,510 x 1,156 pixels).

They also have Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which is great for users who don’t want to give up the familiar Xiaomi UI but want the insane value these F-series flagship phones offer. Both are also AI-powered with Google Gemini and Gemini Live, so you’re still getting one of the leading AI assistants for Android phones.

They also have dual SIM and dual eSIM support on 5G networks, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, NFC, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.

To capture their partnership with Bose, both phones also have Hi-Res and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, on top of Dolby Atmos support.
