Even though Where Winds Meet launched near some of 2025’s biggest games, like Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders, it has managed to not only find an audience, but has managed to achieve a very strong release period for Everstone Studio.
It’s been a whirlwind start for the open world RPG as Where Winds Meet hit a major player milestone in 24 hours, surpassing 2 million in a very short amount of time. Although the game managed to climb to 15 million in China alone after a few months, the game appears to be growing in the West thanks to it being free-to-play and featuring a large open Wuxia-themed world to explore. Where Winds Meet Hands Out Free Rewards
As Where Winds Meet approached its one-week launch anniversary, Everstone Studio announced that it was awarding all players a free gift as a way of saying thank you. Players can log in and earn 10 Lingering Melody in Where Winds Meet, the game’s premium currency that can be used to pull on limited banners. In addition, the studio confirmed that it has also made the Swords Unseen event more rewarding, letting players know they can claim them from the event page.
In addition to the thank you gift, a new Everstone blog post discusses both the positives and negatives from the game’s launch. Feedback has been very important to the studio, which has continued to iron out the lag and network connectivity issues that have impacted certain players. Unfortunately, Solo Mode still has latency problems, but Everstone has a fix lined up for a mid-December update. The studio has also made improvements to the UI, character customization, beginner tutorial, and clues for Where Winds Meet‘s various puzzles.
The studio also presented a look ahead at some of the ongoing enhancements coming in a future update, such as the optimization of translation and multilingual localization. PlayStation 5 players can also expect to see an enhanced frame rate, as well as improved stability and visual quality. Steam Deck compatibility for Where Winds Meet is also a priority, as Everstone plans to roll out several updates over the next two months to continue optimizing and improving the overall experience.
Although Where Winds Meet has no shortage of free and paid cosmetics, one of the more interesting elements to this RPG is that players are able to share character customization presets with one another. For players who want to spice up their aesthetic, they can utilize unique preset codes in Where Winds Meet to change their style or look.
