Larian Studios has released a brand-new Baldur’s Gate 3 update for November 2025. Named Hotfix 35, the patch itself focuses on crashes across all platforms as well as some Steam Deck performance improvements, but many players are seemingly frustrated that the small update has broken many Baldur’s Gate 3 mods.
Prior to this, the last Baldur’s Gate 3 update was in September 2025. That too was a smaller update focused on bug fixes and crashes, and that is all players should expect from the game in the future. Patch 8 was the final major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, launching back in April, and with Larian largely moved on from the game, it’s somewhat surprising to see the developer actually still releasing updates in any capacity.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Devs Have Funny Reaction to 2025 Game Awards Nomination
Baldur’s Gate 3 is nominated for yet another game award, and the developers have an honest and funny response to learning the news.
The latest Baldur’s Gate 3 patch notes for Hotfix 35 were made available on Steam, with some important fixes for crashes on PS5, Xbox, Steam Deck, and Mac. Baldur’s Gate 3 Steam Deck players will also enjoy some improvements to the Steam Deck Native build, including the default upscaling type changing from FSR 1 to FSR 2.2, which improves the sharpness. All in all, Hotfix 35 is a pretty small Baldur’s Gate 3 update, but the crash fixes are welcome nonetheless.
One important thing to note is that the new Baldur’s Gate 3 update will break mods until they’re updated to work with the latest version of the game, with gamers over on the official subreddit already reporting issues following Hotfix 35. Those currently engaged in a modded playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 should take the time to update these mods, or the game will no longer work as intended. While this is frustrating, this has always been the case with Baldur’s Gate 3 mods, so players who use them usually know what to expect.
Although Larian Studios is already engaged in the development of its next couple of games, players may still get more small Baldur’s Gate 3 updates like Hotfix 35 in the future. The developer is largely done with the franchise but is still providing limited support for Baldur’s Gate 3 where necessary. As for the studio’s upcoming games, it’s likely some time yet before it is ready to speak on this topic. Very little is known about the next Larian game, but Baldur’s Gate 3 is sure to be a tough act to follow.
