World of Warcraft Reveals Return of Turbulent Timeways

World of Warcraft is bringing back the Turbulent Timeways event on December 2, which will coincide with the launch of Patch 11.2.7, The Warning. The Turbulent Timeways event will offer World of Warcraft players a way to quickly level up alternate characters, and will offer some high item level gear for players looking to gear up ahead of the Midnight expansion’s 2026 launch.

First introduced during Dragonflight, Turbulent Timeways contains several consecutive weeks of Timewalking, which allows players to queue up for dungeons and raids from past World of Warcraft expansions. Various cosmetic rewards, including the Timely Buzzbee mount, will be obtainable via Timewarped Badges obtained via Timewalking content. While the Turbulent Timeways event is active, players can level up alternate characters to 80 at a faster pace than normal, thanks to a stacking buff that players can earn upon completing Timewalking dungeons.

The launch of the Turbulent Timeways will coincide with the release of World of Warcraft Patch 11.2.7, The Warning. The 11.2.7 update will be the final content patch for The War Within expansion, and serve as a prelude to the story of Midnight. Some of Patch 11.2.7’s key features include a new Lorewalking chapter focused on the various Elves of Azeroth, early access to player housing for those who pre-ordered Midnight, and the return of the Brawler’s Guild.

During the start of the upcoming Turbulent Timeways, the experience buff from World of Warcraft’s 21st anniversary will stack with the Master of the Timeways buff, giving players an extra way to quickly power up alternate characters while both events are active. It remains to be seen what additional surprises Blizzard has in store heading into the Midnight expansion’s 2026 launch.
