Regent Hong Kong marks two years with a world exclusive foie gras burger and Dom Pérignon pours

Regent Hong Kong has unveiled a world exclusive team-up with Shake Shack. From now to 12 December, The Lobby Lounge serves the Foie Gras Shack, which upgrades the ShackBurger with foie gras, Gruyère and truffle mayo, alongside Shack Caviar Fries.

Dom Pérignon White Luminous Vintage 2015 is poured by the glass or bottle. And it is billed by the hotel as the first collaboration between a luxury hotel and the contemporary burger brand. There is a neat visual gag to the set-up. A burger typically built for casual dining or a quick lunch arrives bearing a glossy slab of foie gras and a snowfall of chives.

The room keeps things breezy and informal, yet the hotel service and glassware add a wink of ceremony. The Lobby Lounge delivers cinematic harbour views, an all-day dining rhythm, a casual dress code and an approachable spirit that suits the crossover.

Launch day adds a collector nudge. The first 100 guests who order any Foie Gras Shack receive a co-branded goodie bag created with Shake Shack and the hotel. It’s a small detail, although it underlines the playful side of the promotion and gives the early crowd a reason to set alarms.

The positioning is as explicit as the menu. The hotel talks about a cultural experience rooted in fine-dining craft while leaning into the iconography of a globally adored burger name. It is a handshake between high craft and high comfort, which is why the narrative keeps returning to the view, the service and the idea of relaxed luxury that does not need a tie.

What lands is the sense of occasion without stiffness. The burger still eats like a burger. The fries are still the crinkle-cut favourite, only dressed for a night out. The champagne option brings theatre without tipping into parody. You can treat it as a tongue-in-cheek splurge or a simple upgrade to a comfort classic.

Service choices reinforce that mood. The venue is geared to all-day grazing rather than hushed dining. The dress code is easy. Tables carry proper glassware so the Dom Pérignon feels at home alongside a potato bun. The harbour view does the rest.

All of this plays to the city’s happy contradictions. The polished and the playful can sit side by side. A burger brushed with foie gras, a glass of luminous champagne and a postcard view is a knowing bit of theatre, yet the prices are concrete and the invitation is open.

You could call it clever marketing, or simply how we like to eat now. Luxury sits in the experience and the licence to keep things light. It’s a fresh, unmistakably chic take on elevated casual, and it works because the details line up – from the price ladder and the goodie bag to the no-fuss booking.

A tight, time-limited menu that’s as casual or as extra as you like. Start with the Foie Gras Shack and fries, add champagne if the mood strikes, settle by the window and let Hong Kong’s iconic skyline do the talking.

To secure a table, book the Foie Gras Shack pop-up via the hotel’s online booking page.
