The 41st Voilah! French Cinema Festival will take place in Singapore once more from 13 to 30 November 2025. Singapore will once again host the enchanting French carnival of cinema. This festival will feature the best French film directors and screen a varied selection of films that revolve around the themes of courage, imagination and the human spirit. The festival is now a key component of Singapore’s cultural calendar. It showcases the finest French films and brings together Singapore’s diverse communities and French tourists.

As a cultural diplomacy initiative, this festival is a key instrument for cultural exchange between Singapore and France. This year, the festival will present a wide selection of films in many locations in Singapore, allowing all to appreciate the art and universality of French cinema that transcends all borders.

A Celebration of French Cinema & Cross-Cultural Relations

Mr Stephen Marchisio, French Ambassador to Singapore, noted that the festival is also an appreciation of French cinema and the long-standing relations with Singapore. “Cinema is an important component of our cultural partnership and a reflection of the solid relations and common goals of France and Singapore,” he emphasised. “We address, through movies, the celebration of multiculturalism through cinema and the intercultural dialogue of our plurality.”

This festival programming continues to showcase the rich mosaic of French cinema, including contemporary comedies and dramas, as well as historical and biographical documentaries. This year’s collection of films will address, among others, the themes of the boundless power of creativity, personal change, and resilience. This selection is as much for the French audience as for Singapore’s multicultural populace, aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue and understanding through the art of cinema.
