Battlefield 6 Double XP Event Has a Major Downside

Battlefield 6 players have discovered a Daily XP limit, a problem which has only grown in severity thanks to the ongoing double XP event happening in the game. XP has been a hot topic for a variety of reasons with Battlefield 6 players, ranging from bot farms in Portal, to other progression-based issues.

battlefield 6 challenges too hard player controversy

Battlefield 6 had a massive launch, easily outpacing its predecessor both in engagement and with a much smoother launch. However, the game hasn’t been free from controversy and fan frustration, much of which has revolved around XP earned through playing. EA has moved quickly on many of these issues, including making a server-side change to increase progression speed in Battlefield 6, allowing players to unlock new items faster than at launch. However, a new issue has risen in the community, leaving many players frustrated after its discovery.

Battlefield 6 Has a Daily XP Restriction

While double XP events are great ways to quickly level up and unlock new gear, players have discovered a frustrating issue stemming from a daily XP cap. Players have noticed that after earning 1.5 million XP, the game stops rewarding anything for the rest of the day. While this number is still a huge amount of XP to earn in a single day, it’s not impossible. The big issue here is that the daily restriction hasn’t been updated due to Battlefield 6‘s Double XP weekend event, meaning that players are more capable of reaching that value much easier/faster than normal and are essentially locked out of earning any new rewards.

Naturally, this realization has left most players frustrated and disappointed, with many sounding off online against this tactic. While some question whether earning that much XP is even possible without using some sort XP farming method in Battlefield 6, many are still frustrated that there’s a restriction like this in the game at all. Fans liken the restriction as something a free to play, or mobile game would do, not a premium AAA title. Some likened it as a way to keep players logging in each day to complete a new set of challenges and quests. Others pushed back in a different way, stating that at that point, perhaps it’s time to do something else, like go outside or use free time for other activities. However, during special weekends like a double XP event, an issue like this is going to be a heated topic.

XP gains and progression are faster now than they’ve ever been thanks to continued tweaks from EA. Battlefield Studios also overhauled the Battlefield 6 challenge and assignment systems thanks in large part to player feedback as well as research and data. Specifically, the requirements for assignments and challenges have been lowered across the board, making the game more rewarding and allowing players to unlock new skins and gear at a much faster pace. The changes have been well received by the community, and considering how valued feedback is, it’ll be interesting to see if EA makes any sort of adjustments to the current Daily XP cap.
