The apparent Xbox Series X/S release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake has leaked, indicating that the game will launch on November 21, 2025. The Silent Hill 2 remake Xbox release date appears to have been unintentionally leaked by Microsoft itself.
Fans of Silent Hill have been hoping for Bloober Team’s remake to come to additional systems ever since it launched as a timed exclusive on PlayStation and PC. Silent Hill 2‘s timed exclusivity ended on October 8, so players have been anxiously awaiting news of its arrival on additional systems.
Microsoft Leaks Xbox Release Date for Silent Hill 2
As spotted by TrueAchievements, the Silent Hill 2 remake has leaked a November 21 release date for the Xbox Series family of consoles. The game appeared on the Microsoft Store with the aforementioned release date, but with no indication of it being a Xbox Play Anywhere title. Unfortunately, the store listing also lacked any reference to Silent Hill 2‘s Born from a Wish, the original game’s DLC that players have been hoping would be added to the 2024 remake of the game. The Microsoft store listing has since been removed.
Though plenty of game rumors and leaks turn out to be true, those originating directly from official digital distribution platforms like this tend to be more reliable than most. Other recent rumors have also indicated that the game would launch on Xbox soon, and it follows Silent Hill 2 being rated by the ESRB for Xbox specifically back at the end of October 2025. Given that the store listing has been removed, an official announcement may be forthcoming from Microsoft or Konami/Bloober Team.
One question that remains unanswered is whether Silent Hill 2 will come to Nintendo Switch 2. The system seems to have impressed many game developers with its capabilities, with even the upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil Requiem simultaneously launching on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. So far, no information has surfaced regarding the game being rated for the Switch 2, so if it is in the works, it may be sometime after the Xbox Series version releases. It’s possible that some work may need to be done to ensure it plays well on the Switch 2, which may also be why Silent Hill f launched on all modern systems except Nintendo’s.
