Leica SL3 camera now comes with a Reporter variant at an eye-watering S,000

The full-frame Leica SL3 camera now joins a long-running list of Reporter variant cameras in its storied photojournalist lineup.

Announced today (6 November 2025), Leica Camera AG is launching the Leica SL3 Reporter, a reinforced version of the SL3 full-frame mirrorless camera for professionals.

Like the other cameras in the Reporter subseries, this SL3 variant features a scratch-resistant dark green finish, an aramid fabric cover, and additional protection against abrasions and environmental elements.

The target buyer is reflected in its name: SL3 Reporter is designed for photojournalists and press photographers. It’s also for individuals who appreciate the unusual finish that resembles military camouflage, instead of Leica’s traditional red and black accents. It’s a Leica camera without its classic red logo, too.

The changes aren’t strictly aesthetic. SL3 Reporter’s choice of texture also lends an improved grip to the camera body, and the colour’s sheen also changes over time after repeated, prolonged use, representing the journey it has gone through.

Functionally, it’s the same as a standard Leica SL3. You’re still getting a 60MP full-frame sensor, the ability to shoot in 8K resolution, and IP54-rated dust and water resistance.

Other perks include a 3.2-inch tiltable LCD touchscreen, a full-sized HDMI 2.1 port, and support for photo storage via CEexpress Type B and SD cards.

The Leica SL3 Reporter retails at S$11,000 (GST inclusive) at all Leica Stores worldwide, including the Leica Online Store and the physical Leica Singapore stores that dot the island.
