As 2025 draws to a close, we look at four retrospective exhibitions opening around the world, which celebrate remarkable creatives who continue to have a lasting impact on the cultural psyche. Here are some landmark exhibitions to look out over the next few months, from an overview of Asia-inspired works by American artist Robert Rauschenberg to an exhibition that envisions a creative conversation between legendary designers Vivienne Westwood and Rei Kawakubo.
Robert Rauschenberg – Hong Kong

A precursor to the pop art movement, American artist Robert Rauschenberg was known for his works that combined painting with found objects. “Robert Rauschenberg and Asia”, an exhibition at M+ in Hong Kong, explores a series of works he made during his time in Asia. The exhibition showcases the artist’s collaborations with artisans in India, China and Japan, and artworks by Asian artists he met during his extensive travels in the region. From November 22 to April 26, 2026
