Is it just us, or are some people treating BTO flats under renovation like showflats?

One Singaporean couple (@navigatethirty) recently shared how the same man allegedly entered their new BTO flat twice within five days.

And the second time? He even brought his wife along.

The homeowners shared CCTV footage of both encounters on Instagram, revealing that the incidents happened in late July, while their flat was undergoing renovation.

“We thought trespassing wouldn’t happen to us until it happened to us twice in one week,” they wrote in their video.

Speaking to 8days.sg, the couple, who declined to be named, revealed that they initially didn’t think too much of the first encounter.

“After the first incident, we initially chose not to make an issue of it, as we understood that people might naturally be curious about neighbouring units, particularly in a new estate where many homeowners are renovating or waiting to move in,” they told us.

We get it. Who hasn’t been a little kaypoh about what their neighbours are doing with their new BTO flats?

But there’s a difference between being curious and inviting yourself into someone else’s home.

According to the couple, the man first entered their unit while air-conditioning contractors were working inside.

Five days later, he returned with a woman.

This time, the pair reportedly followed Building Service Centre (BSC) workers into the flat.

Thanks to their newly installed CCTV, the homeowners could see what was happening and confront the visitors through the camera’s speaker.
