War. War never changes. But what does change is the price of some of the best strategy games. Total War: Warhammer 3 is a total blast, offering brilliant strategy set in the ever-excellent fantasy Warhammer universe, and you can grab the game and its DLC for less than ever right now, including the newly launched Lords of the End Times expansion.
As someone who doesn’t play the Warhammer (or Warhammer 40,000) tabletop games, the video games based on the franchise are some of my favorites. Vermintide? Absolute banger. Mechanicus remains one of my most-played strategy experiences (we don’t talk about the sequel here). Total War: Warhammer 3, however, feels the most impressive, both in the sheer scale of its battles and in how fun it is to control your own army.
You start each playthrough by picking one of the Lords, leading your race of choice to victory—and whatever that means differs between the various characters. With rifts opening across the Mortal World and leading to the Realm of Chaos, the goal is to establish your empire as you seek Ursun, who is trapped in the realm. Whatever happens next is entirely dependent on your chosen Lord.
