The late Singapore-born British artist Kim Lim has recently garnered a much-deserved resurgence of international attention. Following major showcases at Tate Britain in 2020 and the National Gallery Singapore in 2024, the diverse oeuvre of the artist is now on view at Axel Vervoordt Gallery in Hong Kong.
Titled “Source”, the exhibition takes its name from her 1988 granite sculpture Source II. Lim specialised in printmaking and sculpture, frequently carving directly from wood or stone to create abstract forms that embodied a powerful minimalism.
