Casetify’s Y2K Hello Kitty collection

If your memories of the early 2000s involve hot pink, leopard prints and far too many stickers on everything you owned, Casetify’s latest Hello Kitty collection should invoke a sense of nostalgia.

The Hello Kitty by Casetify Collection has launched globally, with the collaboration giving Hello Kitty a “Y2K” makeover across phone cases and other accessories. Think leopard-print backgrounds, sparkly graphics, hearts, bows and plenty of pink, although there are also grey, black and tan options if you prefer something a bit more muted.

And since this is Casetify, customisation is a big part of the collection. The Custom Studio lets you combine different Hello Kitty poses, vintage-style graphics and sticker layouts, while adding your own text in gothic-style fonts.

The designs are not limited to iPhones, of course. Casetify says the collection extends to selected Android cases, as well as matching accessories for the iPad.

I have seen more than enough Hello Kitty collaborations over the years, but as someone who lived through the Y2K era, this one tugs my heart a bit. The leopard prints and sticker-heavy designs clearly shows who Casetify are targeting.
