Thomas Ong revealed he moved into a two-room Flexi flat more than a month ago.
The 57-year-old local actor-host, who addresses himself as Lao Wang (Senior Ong), shared in a Facebook post on Sept 25: “I moved into the smallest type of HDB flats in Singapore, a 38sqm two-room Flexi, and it’s been over a month.
“As soon as you step inside, you are two steps away from the bedroom; another two steps will take you to the kitchen and the toilet is just another two steps away.”
He shared that as there is not much space to move around at home, it encouraged him to go out more, including to the shopping mall nearby for meals occasionally or to exercise and take a walk.
Thomas also shared a photo of his cosy living room which has dark wooden cabinets, with a grey couch and matching gingham cushions.
“For me, home has become very simple. It’s just a place to come back to rest and relax, to quiet myself down,” he added in his post.
Thomas also wrote that the benefit of living in a small home is that cleaning and tidying is more convenient and less time-consuming.
“After living here for over a month, I find the renovation suits me very well. Now, whenever I’m back home, I don’t feel like going out at all,” he shared.
