Singapore’s public bus operator Tower Transit is looking for a SBS Transit bus captain and several commuters — for a good reason.
In a social media post on Tuesday (Sept 15) afternoon, Tower Transit said one of its service 854 bus captains suffered a sudden medical emergency while approaching a bus stop along Hougang Avenue 3 on Monday afternoon and subsequently became unresponsive.
Fortunately for the bus captain, a man at the bus stop noticed the bus captain slumped over in the driver’s cabin and banged on the doors to alert passengers on board, who then came forward to help.
According to Tower Transit, one passenger checked on the bus captain while another called for an ambulance, and a third engaged the bus’s handbrake, bringing the vehicle safely to a stop.
