Few would guess that Hong Kong’s first plant-based canned coffee brand, Busy Brew, is run by a 23-year-old.
But founder Nikita Kuwadekar, born and raised in Hong Kong, will be the first to tell you that the journey has not been easy. Behind the curated Instagram posts and the accolades lies a story of open-heart surgery, rejections, relentless hustle and trading the security of a nine-to-five job for the chaos that comes with building a brand from scratch.
Kuwadekar was born with a congenital condition and needed open‑heart surgery while still in high school. Determined not to fall behind, she overhauled her diet, cutting dairy and sugar to accelerate her recovery. The physical benefits were immediate: her skin cleared and her energy returned.
