Some farms in Singapore are pivoting to products that are cheaper than imports and can better withstand the tropical weather. They said support from the Singapore Food Agency has helped them experiment with new species. This could be in the form of grants or technical expertise, like testing new seeds and better feed for fish. The farmers added that the local urban farming scene is still relatively young, and there may be more kinds of produce suited for Singapore waiting to be discovered. Eugene Chow reports.
