The camera is expected to work alongside a broader home security and monitoring service, potentially giving Apple users another reason to build their smart home around the company’s ecosystem.
Privacy could be one of the biggest selling points. Rather than recording and storing footage whenever a trigger occurs, Apple’s approach could use AI to analyse what is happening around the home and respond to relevant events. In theory, this would allow the system to detect unusual activity while reducing the number of triggers.
