Just after Poco launched its 2026 flagship offering to the Singapore market, the Xiaomi sub-brand is also adding its midrange alternative to round out the pack. Now, there’s the Poco X8, with several notable perks that help separate it from the chaff.
Poco X8’s IP69K water resistance
The Poco X8 bets big on durability with its IP-rated resistances (yes, multiple ones). On it is IP66, IP68, IP69K, which not only certifies it for continuous underwater immersion but also rated against high-pressure, high-temperature sprays.
Taking advantage of its high durability is the newly added Underwater Mode, a camera feature that enables correct-looking optical quality for photos taken below water level. However, Poco’s stated fine print said Underwater Mode isn’t a claim of its water resistance: because of its IP rating, it’s limited to freshwater only and to a maximum 2-metre depth for 30 minutes.
