Square Enix has finally put a date on the conclusion to its lengthy Final Fantasy VII remake project. Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch on 8 April 2027, almost exactly seven years after the first instalment, Remake, arrived on the PlayStation 4.
Unlike Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, which made their debuts as PlayStation exclusives, Revelation will be released simultaneously for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The date was announced during the latest PlayStation State of Play, together with a new trailer and a longer look at the gameplay. You can check them out below.
This is the third and final game in the remake trilogy, but anyone who has followed Cloud’s increasingly complicated journey will know that calling it a remake isn’t entirely accurate. The story will once again revolve around Cloud and his companions pursuing Sephiroth, but with several unanswered questions left hanging after the ending of Rebirth.
