Final Fantasy VII Revelation: The final RPG chapter

The game also expands the playable roster with fan-favourite characters Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind joining the party. Square Enix has additionally introduced a new FITS (Function Integrated Tactical Suitwear) system, which allows characters to equip specialised outfits that alter their combat abilities – not too different from the older classic Final Fantasy job systems.

According to Square Enix, Revelation will feature the largest world seen in the remake trilogy, with players able to freely explore much of the planet using Highwind. We also know that the game’s battle system builds upon the foundations established in Remake and Rebirth, incorporating new abilities and character interactions while refining the action-RPG combat the series has become known for.

The announcement was one of the biggest reveals from Summer Game Fest 2026, finally confirming the title and release window for what is expected to be the concluding chapter of Square Enix’s reimagining of one of gaming’s most influential RPGs.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled to launch in Spring 2027. The game is expected to be priced between S$79.90 and S$109.90 for the standard and deluxe editions.
